After chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu withdrew consent for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), YSRCP of Friday said that the chief minister had become ‘paranoid’.
The YSRCP also accused of breaching many democratic norms while they were in power with the NDA and even after pulling out.
YSRCP leaders Buggana Rajendernath Reddy and Ummareddy Venkateswarlu said the urgency in which the consent was renewed and immediately withdrawn indicates at something major being planned during the YS Jagan attack.
They also accused N Chandrababu of working for himself and not for the people. Even when there was an IT raid in Andhra Pradesh he cried foul stating that the BJP is targetting him. He is scared of CBI because of his wrongdoings and involvement in corruption.
On October 25, YSRCP chief Jagan was attacked by a man named Srinivas who was a waiter working in the airport and eventually said he was his fan when Jagan was scheduled to leave for Hyderabad and was seated in a VIP lounge.
“We demand that the GO issued withdrawing consent for CBI to operate in Andhra Pradesh should be withdrawn forthwith as it puts the state in poor light,” the YSRCP leaders said.
The withdrawal of consent means the members of the Delhi Special Police Establishment, including CBI, cannot discharge or interfere in the matters of the state.
