Andhra Pradesh government withdrew its earlier orders issued on June 22 through which YSRCP's Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy was appointed as special representative in New Delhi. Reddy is yet to take the position despite the orders being issued more than two weeks ago as the was consulting several people on this decision.
The Government which issued a cancellation of its earlier orders through the General Administration Department said that they will soon find a replacement to Reddy for this role. The cancellation of the orders came in wake of a possibility of a conflict of interest as Reddy is already an MP with Rajya Sabha and his drawing salary in his new post would attract unnecessary issues.
Vijayasai Reddy who is also the general secretary of the party was appointed as YSRCP's Parliamentary Party leader last month. Reddy has been a member of Rajya Sabha since 2016. In 2012, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested Vijayasai Reddy, then a financial advisor for Jagan's firms in quid-pro-quo cases. Both Jagan and Vijayasai Reddy spent several months in jail. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Reddy has been closely associated with the party right from its inception and is a part of close circles of the Chief Minister.
