Was it desperation?

The unholy alliance or the desperate move by the TDP to form an alliance can be termed as an act of pure desperation. Chandrababu who claimed that he tried to meed Modi 30 times while he was in Delhi to no avail is himself accused of promoting Nepotism, misuse of funds, corruption and ignoring leaders of BJP in his state.

Congress which is generally a minority party and carries the Muslim and Christian vote bank will be a huge boost for the TDP. This will help them split the YSRCP successfully. As far as anti-incumbency is concerned, Chandrababu holds many media houses in AP and can easily swim the tide.

Naidu has a very bad habit of self-proclaiming his credibilities, that he is the only honest and most experienced politician in the country, in fact, has an inferiority complex and understands Modi's rise. If he was really an honest politician he should have contested the elections individually.

He clearly is scared of the elections in 2019 and Congress is the only party right now that can help him. With each passing day, things are getting really sticky for Chandrababu's TDP. This makes the elections in 2019 a highly anticipated one.
