The Chief Minister of AP is known for his clever moves and this time it's no different. N Chandrababu has slowly but surely made sure that he keeps a check on all the minority communities in AP.
He has even appointed two key members of the minorities in his cabinet. He expanded the cabinet by adding Kidari Sravan and NMD Farooq. Both of them have been handling the tribal affairs and minority affairs respectively. Sravan is an IIT graduate and is 28 years old used to hold the post of the state assembly which is now given to Chand Basha from Ananthapur.
Now that two ministers are added to the cabinet it is back to where it used to be with 24 people. The two posts which were offered to Sravan and Farooq were vacant as Kamineni Srinivas and P Manikyala Rao, had resigned from TDP after they had come out of their alliance with NDA.
Chandrababu holds the health ministry while KE Krishnamurthy took care of the Endowments departments. The swearing in took place at the Grievance Hall by the governor of AP ESL Narasimhan.
The move to offer cabinet seats to minorities was taken considering the population of minorities in the state which is 17.2%. The state will go into elections in 2019.
