L&T construction now has a huge project under its kitty. All thanks to the Andhra Pradesh Government which has given them an order of building the base infrastructure of the capital city Amaravati.
The project is worth a whopping 1,954 crores and would be executed by the Water Effluent Treatment Business and Transportation Infrastructure Business of L&T.
L&T which bagged the project on Wednesday from the APCRDA (Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority) will now build the basic infrastructure of the capital city. The project includes the building of roads, sewerage, drains, power, IT and communication technology.
This project has been a dream project for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who wanted to develop the capital city of Amravati with global infrastructure.
On many occasions, chief minister N Chandrababu had expressed how he wanted to see Amaravati develop like Singapore.
L&T bagged the prestigious project after as many as eight infrastructure projects were rejected by FAC (Forest Advisory Committee) on the grounds of not exploring enough options to use non -forest lands for the project development.
