Kodela's son surrenders in furniture case, granted bail

Kodela Sivarama Krishna, son of former Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker, Kodela Sivaprasad Rao, surrendered before Mangalagiri court on Wednesday in connection to a case booked against him on assembly's furniture theft. Sivarama Krishna was granted bail soon after his surrender.

A case was registered against Sivarama Krishna and his father in August for diverting the assembly furniture to their private showrooms. His bail was accepted on the condition that he will have to visit Thullur police station every day.

Kodela Sivaprasad, a 6 time MLA also served as the cabinet minster in NTR and Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet before handling the charge as Andhra Pradesh assembly speaker. Sivaprasad killed himself at his Hyderabad residence on September 16th. After Sivaprasad lost elections in May, several cases were filed against him and his son Sivarama Krishna.

This is also the second time in last ten days that Sivarama Krishna has surrendered before the court. On October 1, he surrendered before the Narsaraopet court in relation to multiple cases of extortion filed against him.
