Kapu corporation MD transferred without EC consent

Amaravati: The poll body in Andhra Pradesh has another issue before it alongside the controversy of EVMs and polling in the state. AP government suddnely transferred Managing Director of Kapu Corporation K Shiva Shankar despite the presence of Model Code of Conduct for 2019 general elections in the State.

As per the MCC, the government needs to take permission from EC before taking decision about transfers. However, AP government did not inform EC about the  transfer of MD of Kapu corporation. This miffed EC officers and they are up in arms against State government about the transfer.

This further led to discussion as to why AP government is taking transfer decisions in a hurried manner. On Wednesday and Thursday, CM failed to conduct review meets on certain departments as officers reminded him about MCC. However, the defiant CM Naidu reviewed CRDA and then went to press conference claiming that his government would stay put till June 8. However, till the results, the CM should not conduct any regualr review meetings but should act only in emergency situations as whole government machinery reports to Election Commission till the completion of poll process.

Chandrababu who held CM post for long time knows all these points, but still is defiant and is taunting EC instead of following model code of conduct. On Thursday CM Naidu failed to conduct review meet on Home department but tried to influence officials. Responding to his acts, YSRCP, which expressed its confidence of winning electins in the state this time, has complained to EC. It alleged that CM is trying pay bills for the companies which are close to him. That party's Rajya Sabha MP Vijaya Sai Reddy wrote a letter to EC that CM Naidu is trying to pay for an Israeli company from which  AP DGP office bought some machinery. He urged EC to restrict CM Naidu from making important payments.
