YCP Supremo Jaganmohan Reddy demanded Andhra Pradesh police to book a case on AP assembly speaker Kodela Shivaprasada Rao for booth capturing on 11th April, the polling day in the state. He rued that instead of booking Kodela, the police filed attempt to murder cases on his party contestant from Sattenapally and his followers. Jagan said that Kodela had captured a booth for one hour and tried to rig, but police did not take this into congnisance. However, when people objected Kodela's actions and demanded their votes, YCP agents supported them and they too demanded the arrest of Kodela. However, in the dogfight followed, police book cases against YCP candidate and his followers for an attempt to murder.
YCP alleges that speaker tore his shirt on his own to display himself on the media and get sympathy. Police also helped him by booking YCP activists, alleged Jagan.
