Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Gautham Sawang met Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday in his camp office. Mr Sawang was appointed as DGP a day earlier on Thursday. Alongside DGP, several IAS and IPS officers met CM on Friday. Gautham Sawang will take full charge as DGP of AP on Saturday. He will continue as vigilance and enforcement DG with the full additional charge.
Sawang's meeting with CM assumes significance as it was touted that Jaganmohan Reddy will review all departments soon after taking oath as CM. The review of law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh by CM is on cards in the backdrop of the meeting of DGP with CM.
Alongside the posting of Sawang, government issued two GOs regarding transfer of four IPS officers. Sawang's predecessor, RP Thakur has been posted as Commissioner, printing, stationery and stores, purchase commissioner, an insignificant post.
