Second major accident on new Gacchibowli flower as car falls off on road

In a freak accident, a car fell off the newly constructed Biodiversity flyover onto the road below killing a woman and injuring six others in the process.

According to the eyewitnesses, the speeding car on the flyover lost control on a sharp curve and fell down. The driver, however, escaped with injuries as the airbags of his car were deployed at the right moment.

Speaking to the media, A Venkateswara Rao, Madhapur DCP said, "The car was travelling at a high speed, and it lost control. As a result, it went and hit the flyover's railing and fell off the flyover. A woman who was waiting under the flyover for a bus was crushed by the car."

A few new cars and autos which were parked below the flyover were also damaged due to the accident.

This is the second major accident on the flyover since it has thrown open to public last month. On November 10th two people who were clicking selfies on the flyover at midnight were hot by a speeding car, the driver of which was in an inebriated mode.

The flyover which is almost a kilometre long was opened last month to bring relief to daily commuters in Hyderabad's IT Hub, Gacchibowli. The flyover that starts at DivyaSree SEZ and ends at Biodiversity Park was constructed at a cost of Rs 70 crores and was inaugurated by IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao
