According to Michael Symonds, the Professor of the University of Nottingham who co-directed the study, Brown fat is different from other fat in our body’ The brown fat produces heat by burning sugar and fat, often in response to cold. Increasing its activity improves blood sugar control as well as improving blood lipid levels and the extra calories burnt help with weight loss.

The team studied the right dose of caffeine to trigger the heating of brown fat and also worked to locate the places of brown fat existence in the human body. When the caffeine levels regulated just in right quantities, this research can prove to be of great help for weight management and blood sugar control.
