7 policemen suspended for watching ' Sye Raa' while on duty

Movies no doubt bring a certain joy to movie buffs and if it is the first-day first show of your favourite star, then the fun gets tenfold. However, such an occasion turned a grim lesson for 7 SI's from Kurnool, who bunked their duties to watch the first-day first show of Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Sye Ra Narasimha Reddy'.

The incident came to light after one of the policemen, to commemorate the occasion, clicked a photo and uploaded it on social media. The policemen, who all were attached to different police stations in the district travelled to Koilkuntla town to catch the movie. Incidentally, none of the policemen had applied for a leave.

The image was widely circulated and soon came to the notice of Kurnool Superintendent of Police K. Fakeerappa, who spoke to the Deputy Superintendents of Police of Nandyal, Allagadda and Dhone in the district, and asked them to conduct an enquiry and take action against the sub-inspectors.

What has especially irked the police department is that the entire department was having an extremely busy considering it was Gandhi Jayanti on one hand and opening of village secretariat's scheduled on the other hand. The entire police force was busy on various duties across the state while this group of 7 chose to unwind with a movie.
