32-year-old man pretends to be 81 to board a flight to New York

The security officials at the Delhi Airport encountered a rather unusual incident when a 32-year-old man dyed his hair and beard white and pretended to be an 81-year-old wheelchair-bound person in order to board a flight to New York.

Jayesh Patel, an Ahmedabad resident used a fake passport in the name of Amrik Singh, aged 81 years to board the flight. The CISF officials found these movements of Jayesh suspicious and took him aside for a thorough checkup. On further investigation, Jayesh revealed the truth.

"The appearance and skin texture of the passenger seemed to be much younger than mentioned in the passport. The man was wearing zero-power glasses to conceal his age. He was later handed over to immigration officials on charges of impersonation and further probe," a senior CISF officer said.

The officials said that his skin texture looked visibly young and his inability to stand up and refusal for even eye contact made them suspicious. A probe is on to know as to why he was doing this illegal act, he said.
