Bollywood filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane took a dig at 'Arjun Reddy' director when the latter posted a tweet condemning the ghastly rape and murder incidents that happened in Hyderabad and Warangal.
The 'Udaan' director quoted a tweet of Sandeep which said "FEAR is the only factor which can change things radically in a society and FEAR should be the new rule. Brutal sentence will set an example. Now every girl in the country needs a firm guarantee.I request @warangalpolice to come into action."
"Will that FEAR stop them from slapping her?", said Motwane in a reference to Sandeep's controversial interview post the release of Kabir Singh in which he had pointed out that 'it is okay for people in love to be physically aggressive against each other'. The comments from Sandeep had come under great criticism with many calling it open support of physical abuse in relationships. His film 'Kabir Singh' a remake of 'Arjun Reddy' was also heavily criticised for being misogynistic and glorifying aggressive behaviour.
Singer Sona Mahapatra also asked Sandeep to ' use his virtue-signalling' in his films as well.
