Varun Tej's “Valmiki” in Trouble

Director Harish Shankar and Mega hero Varun Tej have joined hands to work together on project Valmiki which will also be starring Pooja Hegde and Atharvaa in key roles. Mickey J Meyer is composing the music and Chota K Prasad is the editor of this crime drama which will go on floors soon. The film’s recently released pre-teaser has been well received and Varun Tej’s look and the background music were appreciated by all. Amidst the positive buzz, the film has now landed into troubles for its title - Valmiki. The complaint was registered by Valmiki Reservation Porata Samithi in Guntur against the director and producer stating that they have misused the name Valmiki for money making.

Recently the film’s pre-teaser was out on YouTube portraying Varun Tej in entirely different look. The film, which is a remake of Tamil superhit Jigarthanda has Varun playing the character played by Bobby Simha which garnered great applause in for Bobby in Tamil Nadu.  Director Harish shared his reaction on Twitter stating that the character name is not Valmiki and they have no intention to misuse the sacred name. Meanwhile, the film is yet to start his actual shooting and more details about Valmiki still need to come out so as to give clarity to all.
