600M views: Dhanush hits another jackpot with ‘Rowdy Baby’

It just seems Tamil star Dhanush and his exploits on Youtube are simply inalienable..! His recent film ‘Maari 2’ in combination with actress Sai Pallavi emerged as one of the biggest commercial hits of the year in Kollywood.

If Dhanush, director Balaji Mohan and the rest of the film’s crew are sporting a big smile, beaming with success, the credit also goes to the ‘Rowdy Baby’ song that became a rage on the Internet. As soon as the film was released, the song became an instant hit with film lovers and topped all the charts.

Seeing its popularity, the film unit released the video of the song on Youtube hoping it would add to the film’s craze. The video song not only surpassed all their expectations but even began shattering all the previous records. Within 16 days, it garnered one million views and by February first week of this year, it has beaten Dhanush’s previous sensational song on Youtube, ‘Why this kolaveri di’ by recording 17.9 crore (179 million) views on the world’s most popular video-streaming platform.

The latest buzz is that the song’s amazing run has even seen it cross a staggering 60 crore (600 million) views recently. This is certainly a crazy record of sorts for a South Indian video song in such a short span of time, shattering the myth that only Hindi video songs rule the roost. As latest reports suggest, the song is still going strong and even giving many popular Hindi videos a run for their money.

Dhanush and team are over the moon knowing how the song has captivated audiences, not just in India but all across the world. For the lanky star, this is like a repeat of the ‘kolaveri di’ magic but on a much larger scale..!

The song, featuring Dhanush and Sai Pallavi, was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja with Prabhu Deva choreographing the dance moves.
